Why Does Your Child Need This Course?

A lot of the clients we see for occupational therapy that have handwriting/ fine motor difficulties actually need support with the underlying skills. In order to improve the skills of their hands, they need to have a strong base or foundation, which is core strength, upper body strength and strength in the muscles of their hands.

We have created a guide of activities and worksheets that target those underlying skills that we need to improve handwriting. Unfortunately, in today’s world, children are not using their muscles enough during their day to day play interactions and it is directly impacting their performance in school regarding their fine motor skills (handwriting, pencil grasp, coloring, cutting) and their sensory regulation skills (ability to focus and sit still).

Is your child having difficult with one or more of these?

- Messy handwriting
- Difficulty staying seated in chair during fine motor/writing tasks

-Difficulty forming or copying letters

The goals of this program:
-
Strengthen trunk, shoulder, and hand muscles
- Improve fine motor precision and integration to form letters

- Improve visual motor skills
- Increase endurance for sitting during writing
